01About us

Honest craftsmanship since 1883

We produce grey cast iron castings weighing from approx. 0.1 kg to approx. 350 kg, with an annual production capacity of 900 tonnes. Today the foundry mainly supplies castings to the agricultural, electrical, construction and mechanical engineering industries. At the same time, we have a long tradition in decorative and functional cast iron (benches, posts, bicycle stands, manhole covers, etc.).

Exports currently account for around 35 % of our output, mainly to Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Slovakia and Slovenia. We pride ourselves on a customer-friendly approach and fast, flexible handling of our customers’ requirements.

From melt to finished casting

The entire process takes place under one roof – from melting in cupola furnaces through moulding and core making to fettling and quality control.

  1. Melting shop
    01

    Melting shop

The melting shop is equipped with two cold-blast cupola furnaces with an inner diameter of 700 mm and a maximum output of approx. 2.5 tonnes of molten metal per hour. The drum-type pouring ladles hold 800 kg of molten metal.

  2. Moulding shop
    02

    Moulding shop

We mould with bentonite-bonded green sand.

    • Machine moulding – castings approx. 0.1–90 kg; jolt-squeeze moulding machines FOROMAT 20 (two pairs, 550 × 550 mm flasks) and FOROMAT 30 (one pair, 750 × 750 mm flasks)
    • Hand moulding – castings up to approx. 350 kg (3 stations)
  3. Core shop
    03

    Core shop

Cores are made by hand or on two core shooters.

  4. Fettling shop
    04

    Fettling shop

Shot blasting on two belt blast machines, a table blast machine and a hanger-type chamber blast machine. Finishing on bench grinders or by hand in fettling booths.

  5. Pattern shop
    05

    Pattern shop

Patterns are made by our long-standing, proven suppliers. In-house we carry out only partial repairs and modifications of patterns.

  6. Painting
    06

    Painting

Castings can be primed at the customer’s request.

  7. Quality
    07

    Quality

Casting quality is ensured by spectral analysis and Brinell hardness (HB) testing; tensile testing verifies material strength on request.

    • Further tests (destructive and non-destructive) can be arranged externally.
